HOPE PLUS Camp - 26 & 27 January 2019

Hope Plus Camp 2019 was held on January 26 and 27 at Santhigiri Ashram, Aluva. Around 110 students attended the camp conducted exclusively for HOPE Plus (undergraduate) students. Dr. Saji Gopinath, C.E.O Kerala Start-Up Mission inaugurated the camp. Classes were conducted on distinct topics such as Start-Ups, Financial Planning, Group Discussions, and Cyber Issues. Mr. Jayasankar, Mr. Venu Gopal, Mr. V. K Krishna Kumar; School of Management team from CUSAT headed by Dr. Manu Melwin Joy and other professional trainers conducted various sessions.

Skill Development Programme 2018-19

HOPE CARES Skill Development Programme is aimed at extending job-oriented training to school dropouts from the tribal belt. The objective of the programme is to help them find a livelihood by acquiring proficiency in specialized areas. Selected students are sent for intensive skill development training at the ICICI Skill Development Centre in Coimbatore. The programme is being organized in association with Voltas and is operational in Attappadi (Palakkad District) and Wayanad.

In Fond Remembrance of Babu Paul Sir

Shri. Babu Paul, a civil servant par excellence, acclaimed writer and orator and a great humanitarian, passes onto the heavenly abode. He blessed us with his presence in 2011, for the lighting of the lamp ceremony at the CETA Galaxy Charitable Trust HOPE Scholarships’ awarding event. He extended his support by being available for many of HOPE’s events and had also shown a keen interest in the activities of HOPE. Babu Paul Sir, after graduating from College of Engineering, Trivandrum, under the Civil Engineering branch in 1962, had later on become an IAS officer.

SAMAGRA - Rebuilding of Avittam Thirunal GVHSS

CETA Galaxy Charitable Trust in association with M/s Alfa Laval India Private Limited, Pune initiated the rebuilding of flood-affected Moncompu Avittam Thirunal Govt. Vocational Higher Secondary School, Kuttanad, Alappuzha district, Kerala. The ‘Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony’ at Avittam Thirunal Govt.

District Level Empowerment Camps 2018-19

Empowerment programs were organized in various districts primarily for grade 11 & 12 students to boost their leadership qualities. The major objective of these sessions was to prepare the plus 2 students to become future volunteers and mentors of HOPE. These sessions were also effective for students preparing for various professional courses.

HOPE State Camp 2018

Nearly 1100 people, including students and their parents, attended the 3-day camp. The activities were formal ly inaugurated by Mr. T. P. Sen Kumar IPS (former DGP, Govt. of Kerala) along with cine artist Padma Shri Madhu and Dr. C. V.

HOPE Zonal Empowerment Camps 2017

The zonal empowerment camps for the year 2017 were held at Mar Gregorios Renewal Camp, Nalanchira, Trivandrum on 5 & 6 August 2017, Sreepuram English Medium School, Kannur on 12 & 13 of August 2017 and Santhigiri Ashram, Aluva on 19 & 20 of August 2017

The south zone camp was inaugurated by Dr. Babu Paul IAS (Retd), Former Chief Secretary, Govt of Kerala. Dr. Divya S Iyer IAS, Sub Collector, Trivandrum District launched HOPE PLUS project for southern districts.
