In Fond Remembrance of Babu Paul Sir

Shri. Babu Paul, a civil servant par excellence, acclaimed writer and orator and a great humanitarian, passes onto the heavenly abode. He blessed us with his presence in 2011, for the lighting of the lamp ceremony at the CETA Galaxy Charitable Trust HOPE Scholarships’ awarding event. He extended his support by being available for many of HOPE’s events and had also shown a keen interest in the activities of HOPE. Babu Paul Sir, after graduating from College of Engineering, Trivandrum, under the Civil Engineering branch in 1962, had later on become an IAS officer. He spent much of his time reading and writing. His days of solitude at his home in Trivandrum, as he often explained, were accompanied by the sound of the AC and the ruffling of pages. He led the latter part of his life embracing the silence that filled his home, in the world of books and words. His command of Malayalam and his ability to weave words together to form the most beautiful of phrases were a treat to one’s ears. An epitome of knowledge itself, Babu Paul Sir, you will always be cherished.
