Shri Rajeev S (78C, Mumbai) visited two HOPE Scholarship beneficiaries at their schools. He met Kumari Gauri Ramesh along with School Headmistress, class teacher and PTA president at Govt SVHSS, Kudassanad. It was truly inspiring to note that Gauri is smart, studious and enthusiastic, in spite of hardships at home with a single parent. She was thrilled to share her experiences at the South Zone Empowerment Camp that was held at Adoor.
He also met Kumari Shahanas at SNMHSS, Purakad. Shahanas’s mother, class teacher, and other teachers expressed their gratitude towards CETA Galaxy Trust for the scholarship. The Headmaster and other teachers were also delighted to mention that Shahanas is the best student in the school.
In line with CGCT’s efforts, Shri Rajeev also bought a dozen motivational books in Malayalam and English and gave it to each student. The books include “My Life” by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Malayalam translation of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Sir’s books “Ignited Minds (ജ്വലിക്കുന്ന മനസ്സുകൾ)” and “Guiding Souls (വഴി വെളിച്ചങ്ങൾ)”, “ലോകത്തെ മാറ്റി മറിച്ച പ്രസംഗങ്ങൾ” a collection of powerful speeches, “Helen Keller - The Story of My Life”, “മറക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ, ബുദ്ധിയുള്ളവരാകാൻ” by Dr Alexander Jacob IPS, “പഠിച്ചു മിടുക്കരാകാൻ” by Dr. B S Warrier, “ഈ കഥയിലുമുണ്ടൊരു മാജിക്” by Magician Gopinath Muthukad, “ശാസ്ത്ര കഥ സാഗരം” by Prof Sivadas, “ഉൾക്കാഴ്ച വിജയത്തിന്” by Dr. B S Warrier, M Malayalam translation of book “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, and “പ്രൊജെക്ടുകൾ എത്ര എളുപ്പം” by Prof. Sivadas.
The students have been advised to take one book at a time, read it and note down what they liked most and how it will help them. They have also been requested to send this note through their class teacher; to which he will personally respond. The teachers were very happy with this suggestion and mentioned that they would ensure that the student completes reading all the 12 books by the end of this year.
